Rolex GMT-Master

Rolex GMT-Master

£35,000.00

“One of the most famous tool watches in existence, the originality and condition of this 1675 is what makes it so very special.”

The world’s most famous travel watch, the GMT-Master was the result of a 1955 partnership between Pan-Am and Rolex to create a watch for their commercial pilots, one capable of monitoring multiple time zones. The result was one of the most collectible and iconic pieces ever produced, quickly picked up by NASA, the US Air Force and business travellers. This hugely collectible 1675 features its original large bezel insert in red and blue, the colour scheme which has given rise to its nickname, “The Pepsi”, as well as a black ‘gilt’ dial, one of the very last few produced by Rolex before the switch to matte dials, adding another touch of rarity to the piece. Produced in 1968, the watch is crafted from stainless steel, with the famous 40mm case size that marks the GMT-Master, and both case and bracelet have retained their sharpness for over half a century. Significantly, this 1675 retains all of its original parts, making it highly sought-after by connoisseurs. A vintage powerhouse of a watch.

Condition Report:
