Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon
"There's something truly mesmerising about a tourbillon, and as a complication often seen on dress watches, the impact of seeing one in a futuristic sculpted case is sensational." Nick Baranga, Founder
The first Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept was launched in 2002 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak, in a limited edition of 150 pieces. With one intermediary reference before it, this Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon was the third Concept, unveiled in 2011. Although its predecessors also showcased a tourbillon, this piece was the first to deploy a GMT function, which can be viewed at 3 o’clock with a 24-hour day/night wheel, and which is controlled by the pusher at 4 o’clock. There were two dial variations within this reference, with the H-serials using “AP” and “Swiss” on the dial, as opposed to the I-serial dial (this piece being one), which displays “Audemars Piguet” and “AP”. As a mechanical watch, when fully wound the 26560IO boasts a hugely impressive 10-day power reserve. Concepts are instantly recognisable by their sculpted and unique cases, and this edition in titanium and ceramic with a GMT function is extra special.
Condition Report:
In very good condition, there is some very light wear on the titanium case and buckle, but the ceramic elements of the watch remain perfect. It comes complete with its special presentation wood box with key, instruction booklet and guarantee booklet.
