There isn’t much better in the watch world than a 39mm Royal Oak. Aside from the Extra-Thin “Jumbo” line, many references now have increased up to 41mm, which remain great pieces, but don’t quite have the charm of a 39mm piece on the wrist. This, along with only being 10.3mm thick, makes this 18ct Rose Gold “Dual Time” Royal Oak one of our favourite watches we’ve had the pleasure of offering this year. Slim enough to disappear under a cuff as well as maintaining a classy level of wrist presence due to its aesthetic qualities and undeniably recognisable case (thanks to the Genta-design), this truly is a superb watch - and we haven’t even got to the complication yet. On its crisp white, almost silver-toned “Grande Tapisserie” pattern dial the wearer is greeted with the time, power reserve indicator, day/night indicator, second time zone minute and hour hands, and the date. All of these aspects and offerings, which are powered by AP’s self-winding calibre 2329/2846 movement within, put this watch above much of its competition when looking for a travel companion in the form of a watch. Now discontinued, this really is a rare bird with little to no examples being available physically today. The Rose Gold case matches perfectly to the square-pattern brown Alligator leather strap the watch is fitted to, and of course comes with AP’s highly polished and matching Rose Gold folding clasp. The finishing throughout the dial is absolutely stunning to admire, showcased in our listing images, and when comparing to its black-dial counterpart which it sat alongside at its time of production, it really does stack up much higher in terms of its general beauty.

Condition Report:

Having just returned from a full service at Audemars Piguet in which the watch has been treated to a complete maintenance service, refinishing of the case and buckle, and a brand new matt brown alligator leather strap, the watch is like-new. The refinishing job that AP’s master polishers have done across the case and bracelet of this watch is utterly superb, and they’ve made this seven year old watch look like a brand new watch. Benefitting not only from a very recent service (end of July 2021), the watch is back under AP’s warranty for two years, and also is accompanied by its entirety of original accessories from 2015 including its box, electronic warranty and, guarantee booklet and instructions manual.
