Quite possibly one of the most special 15202 iterations in existence (maybe bar the Only Watch 2021 offering), we’re over the moon to be able to offer this limited edition Extra-Thin “Jumbo” to the market. Introduced back in January of 2018, the 15202IP shown here wasn’t actually the first time the brand had used titanium and platinum for a Royal Oak in Audemars Piguet’s history. Showcased the year before its introduction through a Royal Oak Tourbillon Extra-Thin as well as a Royal Oak Chronograph, and it’s safe to say that the combination worked and went down tremendously well with the watch world, likely spurring the idea for this project. Limited to just 250 pieces worldwide throughout its 3 years of production, the 15202IP really is one of the rarest iterations of the “Jumbo” in existence. Albeit not individually numbered like some other limited editions, there’s no doubting the uniqueness of this watch. Bringing together one of the lightest and durable metals (titanium) with one of the heaviest (being platinum) is a somewhat strange combination, but as shown here, makes for the ultimate unification. When pairing the brushed titanium throughout the watch’s case and large bracelet sections with the mirror-like platinum on the bezel an the inter-links of the bracelet, the end result is just spectacular, and it really takes the Royal Oak’s iconic aesthetic to the next level. Looking at the dial, we are given a colour which has not been used in other Royal Oak models, and makes for a much more appealing and interesting look to that of the “normal” Extra-Thin. The smoked blue dial, with its iconic “Petite Tapisserie” pattern throughout, is beautifully different to its steel counterpart, and in fact to all other models of 15202 that were produced throughout the past ten years. The gorgeous deep blue at its centre where its white-gold hands are mounted fades perfectly out to a dark black a the perimeter of the dial. Given its utilitarian offering in the use of mainly titanium, and when considering the watch’s dimensions of 39mm whilst being just 8.1mm thick, the watch really can be considered as an everyday watch, albeit a very, very special one at that.

Condition Report:

Completely unworn since its original day of purchase, the condition of this watch can only be described as like-new. Poised on the wrist for photography purposes alone, the watch is complete with its full array of titanium links and the highly-polished, incredibly-finished platinum bezel (which is literally mirror-like) remains even micro-scratch free and perfect. The watch is of course complete with its entirety of booklets, accessories and its original green polished wooden Audemars Piguet box, and the watch remains under the brand’s extended warranty.
