Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Moonphase
Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Moonphase
“The beauty of the 4947 is its versatility - it’s extremely luxurious and ultra-engineered, but wearable anywhere, for anyone.”
When it comes to complicated dress watches, Patek Philippe remains at the very pinnacle of horology. The legendary brand launched the world’s very first annual calendar in 1996, followed recently by this new reference 4947, in a beautifully versatile 38mm case, a size to suit any wrist and any occasion. This is the first time Patek has offered a watch like this in steel, and a Calatrava-style case is paired with a supple, five-row integrated steel bracelet. The dial layout is a stylish, balanced design displaying the day and month in subdials, triangulated with a moonphase subdial at 6 o’clock, with the date aperture nestled below. The elegant, midnight blue dial tone is enriched with a double vertical and horizontal striped satin finish, for added subtle panache. The fantastically decorative Cal.26-330 movement is visible beneath the sapphire crystal display back, showcasing Patek’s famous finishing and decoration work. Although a dress watch, as an annual calendar its purpose is daily wear, as it only requires an adjustment at the end of each February. A multi-purpose masterpiece.
