The 116509’s case is a characteristic 40mm, with screw-down winding crown and chronograph pushers, and the dial is a rare, “smoked black” Racing dial with striking red markers and accents for an explosion of colour. With Arabic numbers in white gold, a minute counter at 3 o’clock, hour counter at 9 and small seconds at 6, there are very few of these examples available today. Rolex’s in-house cal.4130 movement has increased reliability, a Parachrom hairspring for improved resistance, and comes with 72 hours of power reserve, while the bracelet features the Easylink extension system, allowing the wearer to make 5mm adjustments on the go.
