Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona
“An eye-catching alternative to the usual modern Daytona options.” Nick Baranga, Founder
With its striking, contrasting dial and famous racing case silhouette, the Rolex Daytona is arguably the most iconic watch ever produced, and in 2004 the brand added the 116509, the first Daytona in full white gold, complete with white gold Oyster bracelet, to their arsenal. Rolex has an in-house foundry to ensure the perfect mixture of elements, and the result is a luxurious piece of 18k “stealth wealth,” with a comfortable and powerful fit on the wrist. The 116509’s case is a characteristic 40mm, with screw-down winding crown and chronograph pushers, and the dial is a rare, “smoked black” Racing dial with striking red markers and accents for an explosion of colour. With Arabic numbers in white gold, a minute counter at 3 o’clock, hour counter at 9 and small seconds at 6, there are very few of these examples available today. Rolex’s in-house cal.4130 movement has increased reliability, a Parachrom hairspring for improved resistance, and comes with 72 hours of power reserve, while the bracelet features the Easylink extension system, allowing the wearer to make 5mm adjustments on the go. A timepiece of exceptional individuality.
