Henry and Henry: Timeless Elegance Born from Friendship and Passion
Henry and Henry:
Timeless Elegance Born from Friendship and Passion
“I like sparkly things”. Jake Lewis, jewellery designer, can’t say this without a cheeky twinkle in his eye. With his best friend Charles Goode, their brand, Henry and Henry Fine Jewellery, is a story that’s been decades in the making. “The name itself comes from our middle names. We’ve known each other for over 20 years”. Driving the brand's passion for creating stunning jewellery is this deep rooted friendship and mutual love for beauty and craftsmanship.
Watches London accompanied their glamorous launch event in South Kensington, with a synergy of artistry, precision and timeless style. And ideally situated with the Natural History Museum illuminated through the windows, providing the perfect backdrop as a symbol of antiquity and evolution, themes at the heart of the designs.
Charles, who has spent his career immersed in the antique trade and Art Deco, draws much of his inspiration from this classic style. “A lot of our designs have Deco undertones, especially the geometric shapes and symmetry,” he explains. “For us, it’s about creating something everlasting and meaningful.”
And there is certainly something fresh and nostalgic on display here.
One of the brand’s standout collections includes the “Geo Funky Beads,” a playful yet sophisticated line inspired by a 1940s necklace that the duo discovered years ago. “That first necklace inspired an entire collection,” says Charles. “We like to create pieces that work for any occasion, giving our clients the freedom to dress them up or down.”
Their teamwork is the driving force behind Henry and Henry’s success. “We’re very laid-back and that’s what works for us,” says Jake. “We bounce ideas off each other constantly and no idea is too crazy. There’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ when it comes to creativity."
A highlight of the night was their “Cleopatra” emerald choker, a true showstopper. “When we found that emerald, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” says Jake. “A stone like that doesn’t come around often and we knew we had to make something truly special from it.” It’s 34-carat, step-cut Colombian emerald stone, originally set in an art deco ring, that they’ve redesigned into a stunning choker that now sits prominently as a “power piece” in the collection. Charles treasures it as the birthstone of their company, "it feels right to have it as a signature item: bold, beautiful and full of history.”
Henry and Henry’s designs are for women of the ilk of Cleopatra. Women who embrace strength and elegance. “She knows how to turn heads, she’s stylish, confident and has fun with her look,” says Jake. She’s the ultimate rock chick, quite literally.
And there's the appeal of an oversize watch on a woman. Watches London was a natural fit to complement the launch, combining two worlds of luxury. “Nick has been a good friend of mine for years and his knowledge and eye for design align perfectly with ours,” Jake shares. “We love the idea of a lifestyle aesthetic, everything from clothes to art, and of course, jewellery and watches”. For Nick, the link is clear, “they are both collectibles, pieces of art that can be passed down through generations.”

The future for Henry and Henry sparkles on the horizon as Jake and Charles plan to take their brand global. “We’re looking at more shows in locations like New York, Miami, and LA; and we’re excited to bring our designs to Europe, places like Barcelona, Marbella, and Ibiza. We’ll go where the brand can thrive. And, of course, we’ll make it a bit of a holiday too.” And there again is that trademark glint in his eye.
