Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, Sodalite Dial
Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, Sodalite Dial
“You are extremely unlikely to ever run into someone else with this watch. It’s a striking work of art.” Nick Baranga, Founder
The most iconic timepiece of all time, the Rolex Daytona was designed in 1963 as the ultimate timing tool for endurance racing drivers and, nearly forty years later this 116519 demonstrates the evolution of the legendary line from pure tool watch to an item of outstanding beauty. The watch features a 40mm white gold case and factory leather strap, but is taken to a new dimension by its Sodalite dial, so rare that it was never even officially in the Rolex catalogue. A baby blue mineral used as an ornamental gemstone, each Sodalite dial is carved from a block into a super-thin disc, a precision engineering technique which requires breathtaking time and craftsmanship. Each dial is unique, changing its appearance depending on the angle of light, and with 8 brilliant-cut diamond indexes with 18k white gold surroundings and applied 18k white gold Arabic numerals, this piece truly explodes off the wrist. With its original 18k white gold Rolex folding clasp, the watch is fitted with a brand new Rolex black buffalo leather strap. An ultra-rare conversation starter.
