We’re pleased to be able to offer this extremely rare and highly attractive platinum and diamond-set Nautilus for sale. Introduced and made-to-mark the 40th Anniversary of the Patek Philippe Nautilus, Patek made 700 of these 5711’s, cased in Platinum (as showcased by the diamond embedded in the case at 6 o’clock) and featuring a never-seen-before dial. Not only is the colour unique to this reference, but the watch displays a diamond-set dial throughout its hour markers and the inscribed “40 - 1976-2016” on the lower section of the dial. Having been on an upward trajectory with regards to its value and popularity since its introduction in 2016, this 40th anniversary wristwatch has spiked in recent weeks given the news of the steel, blue-dial 5711 being discontinued. The 5711 model as a whole is officially over. The journey through different metals as been a long one (since it begun in 2006), but that iconic 40mm case size has likely ended, and albeit the expectation that Patek Philippe will introduce an “updated Nautilus”, its likely that it might not be “as good” as the 5711, and therefore this limited edition could very well be as good as it ever can get.

Condition Report:

Having been worn sparingly in its five-year life to date, and remaining unpolished, this anniversary-variant of the Nautilus 5711 is something truly, truly special. Its polished and brushed finishes throughout the case and bracelet are like-new, and overall the condition can be described as excellent.

Complete with its entirety of Limited Edition-issued accessories (including a separate and additional “attestation”), the box of this special Nautilus is something of true elegance. Even though the “usual” Patek Philippe boxes are incredible, the cork-style box that this 5711 is delivered in is pure perfection, and serves as a lovely nod to the original “Jumbo” Nautilus from 1976, which were delivered in similar-style cases.

Very importantly and very possibly unique to this watch, the UK Certificate of Origin remains unsigned in the owner section, and therefore albeit being a pre-owned watch, this particular example enables its new owner to fill the blanks with their personal details whilst registering themselves as the new owner with The Patek Philippe Register.
