Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Dual-Time
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Dual-Time
“39mm was always my preferred size for the Royal Oak. It’s just so well-proportioned. You won’t see many of these dual-times now that they’ve been discontinued.” Nick Baranga, Founder
In April 1972, Gerald Genta was given just one night to come up with a revolutionary luxury sports watch in stainless steel. Inspired by a traditional diver’s helmet, the result was the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, one of the most iconic watches of all time and as in-demand as ever on its 50th anniversary. A hugely useful complication rarely seen on a Royal Oak, the dual-time was first introduced in 1992, and this now-discontinued model is quickly becoming hugely collectable. At 39mm the watch is tied to Genta’s original dimensions, and its immaculate satin brushed case and integrated bracelet reflect even the smallest amount of light with a unique beauty. Its grande tapisserie dial, featuring a power reserve indicator, date function, second time zone and a day and night indicator, is busy with complications but remains well balanced and easily readable. A stunning companion for both travel and daily wear.
