Reference 15202 needs little to no introduction, and fewer more so than this 18ct Rose Gold variant with a blue dial. Aesthetically in terms of its design and size, the watch in question is identical to the much-loved stainless steel, but does it so much better. There’s no denying that Audemars Piguet’s blend to create rose gold is one of the best in the industry, and described by the brand as “pink gold”, the colour just has an incredibly special look to it - and the weight is just perfect. The Extra-Thin “Jumbo” truly is a spectacular reference across all of its variants, which is hinted at in the name, as the watch itself is at the quite-perfect 39mm in size, and remains just 8.1mm thick which is quite astonishing and there’s nothing quite like it in the sports watch sphere. In and amongst the breathtaking case, we are given a blue “Petite Tapisserie” pattern dial which is just superb, and the colour has been iconic with the brand and this model in particular since the first Genta-designed Royal Oak was launched in 1972. Having been confirmed by Audemars Piguet themselves, we believe to find ourselves in the final year of production for the utterly glorious 15202. A tough one for many to take (who haven’t managed to purchase one yet), the reference has been with us for almost 10 years, and will finally be replaced next year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world-renowned Royal Oak. With this news being public knowledge, demand and thus prices for these Jumbo’s in general has gone through the roof in recent months (particularly the steel reference), and there is seemingly no signs of anything slowing down.

Condition Report:

Unpolished, and having had just one owner from new, the watch is in strong overall condition and there exists no major deep scratches across the rose gold case and bracelet. Refinishing can be done on request, although there is plenty more wear in the watch to be enjoyed. Fully complete with its entirety of Audemars Piguet accessories and its original box, the watch remains under the brand’s extended warranty until 2024.
