Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time “Everest”
Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time “Everest”
“The Overseas Everest is a unique model, a super-high-end timepiece that’s supremely functional, distinctive and fun.” Nick Baranga, Founder
Part of the “Holy Trinity” of watchmaking alongside Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin is at the pinnacle of horology. In 1977, to mark its 222nd anniversary, Vacheron released the 222, subsequently renamed the Overseas. Released in 2021, the current version, the Overseas “Everest” was inspired by a 2019 prototype worn by mountaineer Cory Richards on his ascent of Mount Everest, a climb supported by Vacheron. Limited to just 150 pieces, the watch’s 41mm case, bezel, crown, pusher guards, and pusher are crafted entirely from titanium, while the bezel ring is made of stainless steel. Typically, the case finishing is immaculate, and a blend of bead-blasted, brushed and polished elements adds subtle texturing and contrast to the piece. A grey-blue grained dial is contrasted with glowing orange accents for increased legibility, and Vacheron’s innovative quick-release mechanism means the wearer can swap out the lightweight Cordura fabric strap for the spare rubber strap in seconds. The in-house cal.5110DT/2 movement is visible through the sapphire display caseback, with a 22k pink gold oscillating weight that carries an engraving of Mt. Everest. Extreme sport meets Vacheron’s flawless artistry.
