It’s an extremely unusual occurrence for Patek Philippe to give us Anniversary model watches, and when they are announced and created (usually for large anniversaries such as the 40th Anniversary of a model, the opening of a new factory etc.) they are made in extremely small numbers. This utterly gorgeous World Time is one of these wrist watches. Announced in 2014 to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of Patek Philippe, this is the 5575G World Time Moonphase. Limited to 1300 pieces, the watch has a number of unique details which separate it from your “normal” world time, which has proved to be one of the most popular watches for collections thanks to both its aesthetics and functionality. One of these details, and probably the most eye-catching and impressive is the central section. Usually, world timer’s are given a gorgeous guilloche centre, which to many, the quality cannot be matched by any other watch maker. This current example however displays an almost image-like moon phase, set upon a dark starry background. Powered by the ultra thin self-winding Calibre 240 HU LU, the wearer is able to easily view the time at any of the 24-timezones around the world. Two additional anniversary features, alongside its special box and medal, are the engravings on both the solid case back of the watch, as well as around the circumference of the white gold deployment clasp.
