It is to no surprise that the last one of these we had lasted just a few days before it was snapped up! Showcasing exception value for money when being compared to its rose and yellow gold counterparts, especially something like a green-dial 116508, ref. 116509 showcased here with its “-0071” dial configuration (indicative of the blue) is a superb watch. Combining luxury and subtly is sometimes a difficult achievement, but the full white gold Daytona does just that and more. Displaying all the favoured qualities of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona such as its 40mm case size and hugely comfortable Oyster bracelet, the 18ct white gold used throughout the case and bracelet for this particular reference elevates the watch to new heights. Although described by Rolex as a “bright blue” dial, thanks to the sun-brush finish across the dial it in fact displays a number of tones, from a gorgeous light blue in direct sunlight to a dark blue hue in the evening light. Featuring a chronograph function, powered by the trusty calibre 4130 movement within, the watch boasts a 72-hour power reserve and gives the wearer a 12-hour stop-watch on the wrist, as well as being able to tell the time of course. With this watch currently trading for half-as-much as the full yellow gold green dial variant, in which its often compared to, it’s not hard to see the value here.

Condition Report:

Having only been worn on a handful of occasions, the watch is almost as-new with just some light wear marks across the watch’s bracelet. Notably there is light scratch on the 6 o’clock side of the bracelet on one of the brushed side links of the oyster bracelet, but both being in exception condition throughout and also given its precious metal material, we would advise against polishing the watch. The watch is ready for plenty of wear, or simply to be tucked away, and comes complete with its entirety of accessories, including both its swing tags, and new-style card placing the watch under Rolex’s international warranty until 2025.
