Rolex GMT-Master II
Rolex GMT-Master II
“I have a deep connection with this model - it’s one of the first I ever brought to market. It’s a watch that has it all - beauty, comfort and rarity.” Nick Baranga, Founder
One of Rolex’s great classics, the GMT-Master is the world’s most famous travel watch. In 1955, Pan-Am partnered with the Swiss brand to create a watch for their commercial pilots, one capable of monitoring multiple time zones. The result was one of the most collectible and iconic pieces ever produced, quickly picked up by NASA, the US Air Force and business travellers. This model, the 116718, was released to celebrate the line’s 50th year, featuring a vibrant green dial - Rolex’s signature colour, included on their anniversary pieces. Crafted entirely in 18k yellow gold, the watch has a 40mm case with a bi-directional rotatable bezel in black Cerachrom, Rolex’s patented scratch-proof and fade-proof ceramic. The eye-catching green dial with Superluminova display is extremely legible, fitting with its history as a pilot’s tool watch, and its yellow gold GMT hand separates it from the black dial version. The Oyster bracelet is equipped with the Easylink extension system, allowing for 5mm adjustments on the go, for increased comfort in humid conditions or on long-haul flights. An undeniable titan of a timepiece.
