One to tuck away for the next few years, it’s with no doubt that the 50th Anniversary Submariner Date is our outright favourite Submariner of the 21st century. Initially introduced in 2003 (the actual anniversary year), and running until the new, ceramic bezel insert Submariners of modern, the 16610LV has proved to be one of the fastest appreciating Rolex watches of the last 20 years, and we don’t see it stopping anytime soon. Though we saw subtle changes throughout the 16610LV’s production period, these “RRR” examples (in which the rehaut within the watch is engraved with “ROLEX”) are right up there with the most sought-after variants. Given the “RRR” watches were only produced for 2 years, there are far fewer examples available when comparing these to the “normal Kermit” without the inner rehaut engraving, and production-period length has always been a factor in the desirability of collectible wristwatches. Albeit 13 years old now, the watch itself is incredibly robust and with a water resistance of 300m, is fit for any occasion.

Condition Report:

In almost-NOS condition, this unpolished and incredibly well preserved example is the full package. Coming with its entirety of accessories including both swing tags, Submariner booklets, correct Rolex box and UK-signed card, it’s safe to say that they don’t get much better than this.
